Official Miss USA Interview
Jacqueline Honulik
AGE: 21 | HEIGHT: 5'8" | HAIR COLOR: AUBURN | EYE COLOR: GREEN
"Being that I am not a completely crazy or adventurous person, I would
have to say that my adventure in the Waipio Valley of Hawaii with
friends and family was one of the craziest experiences I ever had.
From coasting down the side of a cliff at an incredibly steep incline,
to traveling through rivers, and sinking into 4 feet of mud while in a
rented SUV; my spur of the moment trip to Waipio was one of the
craziest moments of my life." Jacqueline graduated from Fairfield High
School in 2004 and is a student at The University of Scranton with
area of study in Political Science. "My strongest talent is my
passion. My passion triggers my drive and determination and allows me
to compete and chase after what I want most. I am a goal oriented
young woman; I strive for greatness while maintaining my core values.
I keep my moral values close to my heart throughout all I do; which is
one of the reasons I chose to attend a Jesuit University. A strong
sense of commitment and character coinciding with compassion and
dignity. My passion for ballet has allotted me some of the best
moments of my life while performing on stage, using my body as a tool
to convey a message. My passion for school has allowed me to become a
successful student, and I hope to continue onward by someday
fulfilling my career ambitions. I am also passionate about my family
and in remembering those whom I love and those who have treated me
with respect. Without a passion in our lives, our personalities turn
to dust. We have nothing to strive for, nothing to work towards.
Passion breeds hard work, love, and success." "One of my greatest
accomplishments happened at a very early age. I have had a certain
talent for art and creativity all of my life, but while in 4th grade
my greatest dreams came true. I created an ornament which was chosen
to hang on a Christmas tree in the White House during the Holiday
season. I was able to travel to Washington DC with my family, and
experience a tour of the White House. The entire experience was so
beautiful. The feeling of Christmas, the glory of Washington, and the
special feeling of being with my family for such a splendid occasion
was just spectacular. The entire experience was simply honoring. My
mother had also just come out of the hospital, so this event greatly
lifted her spirits. I believe that it was this time spent in
Washington that spurred my love for politics, and my interest in
history. From that moment on, I knew that I wanted to involve myself
in a political climate." When asked what is the most important thing
she wants the judges to know about her, Jacqueline said: "Dear judges,
I am passionate and driven, I believe in good morals and family values
and would never disappoint the Miss Universe organization, for I am
not reckless in anyway. I love my family more than anything and I
appreciate all they have given me in my 21 years on this earth. I
believe that success comes from hard work and practice. Nothing is
given to you in this life, and if you want something you must work for
it; and earn it yourself. I believe that beauty is natural and one's
appearance should never be altered; for that person loses their true
beauty and character with each nip, tuck, and tweak. I believe in
justice and in the benefits of helping others when it is deserved. My
father is a police lieutenant and I believe in all of the core values
he has taught me. My grandfather was a firefighter, and I have
retained his passion and love for the community. I am intelligent and
strong willed. I want to be Miss USA with all of my heart, mind, and
soul. The opportunity to compete in this pageant is the greatest
opportunity that I have ever been given. I promise to wow and inspire
you, and be the absolute best candidate from Connecticut that you have
ever seen. I understand that the task of being Miss USA is a demanding
job. But I am an excellent speaker, I have zero fear of an audience or
the public, I juggle my busy schedule with ease, I am confident,
honest, prepared, obedient, and I want this honor more than anyone. I
believe in defending good morals, and all that I feel is right. I am
not afraid to speak my mind, for I feel that this is a necessity if
one wants to succeed in the world. I believe in the importance of
intelligence in having a strong mind; education is my top priority I
want this accolade not only for me, but for my family, for my
community, for my heritage, and for my future. Thank you judges.
Sincerely, Jacqueline Honulik"
